How much does a puppy cost?

The cost for one of our puppies is: $3,000 CDN

What does this cost include?

  • Vaccination and vet checks through to puppy pick-up

  • De-sexing up to $250.00 CDN. Rebate once de-sexing is complete. (We work with our clients on picking the appropriate time to spay/neuter the dogs)

  • Microchipping

  • De-worming at 3,5 and 7 weeks

  • ALAA certification (http://alaa-labradoodles.com)

  • WALA certification (https://www.wala-labradoodles.org)

  • 3 year health guarantee

  • Lifetime support

How are the puppies raised?

All of our puppies are lovingly hand-raised in a family home where they are socialized amongst family and friends. They are exposed to all the hustle and bustle of daily life including: vacuums, lawn mowers, leaf blowers, sprinklers, TV, music, loud voices, bad singing, and kids playing. It’s great to be able to see how each puppy reacts to different stimuli, both mentally and physically. We also have at least 6 adult dogs living in the home at any given time, so the puppies grow up and socialize within a pack. Which will hopefully make the transition to your family (pack) much easier.

How do I apply for a puppy?

To reserve a puppy from an upcoming litter please fill out our application form here. We require a $500 CDN booking fee which can be paid in the form of cash, eTransfer, Paypal, personal cheque, certified bank cheque or money order.

  • Cheques and money orders to: Vancouver Labradoodles

  • E-transfers: marie@seminerio.com (Make the password “puppies”)

Final payment for the puppy is due upon pick-up or delivery and can be paid as above.

What if they just aren’t enough puppies to go around?

If there are not enough puppies in a litter to satisfy all of our requests we will contact you immediately. You will then have the choice of refunding your deposit, or being waitlisted for the next possible litter.

How do I choose a puppy?

When it comes to reserving a spot in the litter, Vancouver Labradoodle always gets the first pick. From there, we base decisions on the following: date of receipt of application and deposit, and then whether a puppy is a good match for your family. For instance, you may have your heart set on a black puppy, and then meet and fall in love with a chocolate puppy. It is best to be open to all possibilities.

When do you start allocating puppies?

Allocation does not happen until the puppies are 5-7 weeks old. The first 3 weeks of a puppy’s life are very fragile and we take due care to keep them protected and insulated from the outside world. After the 3 week mark, we begin assessing physical and mental qualities to gauge its disposition. If the puppies are well and good, we can begin arranging visits at this time.

What if I’m feeling a little uprepared?

Along the way, I will provide you with some information that will help you prepare for your puppy. There are also countless resources via books and websites to help you prepare for this breed.

Can you tell me more about the breeding process?

When we pair the stud and dam, we look at all their health testing scores:

  • OFA images of hips, elbows and knees

  • DNA Analysis for genetic issues

  • Testing done to the standards of Australian Labradoodle Association of America (AALA)

If you would like to receive a copy of the testing results, please get in touch.

How is sizing determined?

I refer to sizes as such:

  • Mini: 8-18lbs (we do not produce minis)

  • Small: 18-30lbs

  • Medium: 30-45lbs

  • Standards: 45-80lbs

Is my puppy homesick?

By the time you bring your puppy home, you should already know it quite well. However, there is always a period of adjustment and they settle into their new home, and family pack. This is a transition that all clients go through, don’t worry, and I am absolutely willing help you get through it.
